Welcome to Fatima Care Foundation

In 1991 we  (Hidayat & Brenda Khan) were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Fatima Khan. She was born with some medical issues, a heart problem was her main issue. In her lifetime she had several major heart surgeries.

She was an active healthy girl for most of her life. She loved to go to school, to participate in home work and family activities.

She enjoyed playing with her cousins, going to the park and the store. She took an active part in school special games.

If you have a special needs child in the family then life becomes very limited. She comforted us every second of her life.
The Prophet s.a.w said,

إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْمَلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِيمَانًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا وَأَلْطَفُهُمْ بِأَهْلِهِ

“Indeed among the believers with the most complete faith is the one who is the best in conduct and the most kind to his family.”

(Sunan At-Tirmizi)

June 25, 2007 was the saddest day of our lives when Fatima died at the age of 16 years and 4 months (May Allah bless her soul). On that day we not only lost our daughter but we also lost our world and our lives were empty.
It took us months to come back to our senses, but life is not the same and it will never be the same.

Losing your child is unbearable. May Allah save any parent from going through this. No one should wish it for their enemy, either.

“The sorrow we feel when we lose a loved one is the price we pay to have had them in our lives.”

In this  very sad time, friends and family helped us with her burial. It was a big expense.

“Today a normal burial costs about $7,500.”

The Birth of Fatima Care Foundation: In the wake of their daughter’s passing, Hidayat and Brenda Khan channeled their grief into establishing the Fatima Care Foundation, inspired by Fatima’s compassionate spirit and her desire to help others. The foundation’s mission is to contribute to humanity’s rehabilitation and development, with a focus on welfare, rehabilitation, and funeral services.

Addressing Global Needs: The foundation is dedicated to extending support to disaster-stricken communities and refugees, especially those far from their families and without resources. Recognizing the challenges faced by refugee families in the USA, the Fatima Care Foundation works to ensure that children grow up healthy, educated, and safe.

Through their efforts, Hidayat and Brenda Khan have turned their sorrow into a force for positive change, honoring Fatima’s legacy by uplifting those in need.

The main purpose of Fatima Foundation is to help people in such a time for their needs with this very important and necessary expense. We don’t want someone to be a burden on people.

“He who joins a funeral procession and takes three turns to help carry the bier has discharged his obligation to the dead.” (Wisdom of the Holy Prophet: P.64)
There are so many Muslims,  individual or refugee families who are far away from their families, with no help around them who need our help.

In this time of need, Fatima Foundation wants to be the first one to come forward and help.

We formed this organization (Fatima Care Foundation) in her name because she was always with us helping the community when they needed help.
